Coventry City has officially secured the signing of 20-year-old midfielder Caleb Irenki from Danish side Nordsjælland. The transfer fee amounted to €27 million, making the Ghanaian midfielder the most expensive signing in the history of the English club.

This deal also set a new record for the highest transfer fee received in Danish football. Irenki had been with Nordsjælland since 2024, appearing in 56 matches and earning the accolade of Best Young Player in the Danish Superliga for the 2025-2026 season.

The Ghana international midfielder has also impressed on the international stage, scoring the winning goal for his country in their 2026 World Cup match against Panama. The promising youngster is now set to continue his career in the English Premier League.
