Mikolenko Labels Savinho Toughest Opponent After Tottenham Draw
Everton defender Vitaliy Mykolenko reflected on his team’s recent goalless draw against Tottenham. The match ended 0-0, with both sides unable to find the net.
“To be honest, the first 10 minutes were tough for all of us, including myself. But I think it was crucial to keep a clean sheet during those initial 10-15 minutes. After that, in my opinion, we played much better.
Playing against Savinho is always challenging. I told the guys in the dressing room that, for me, he is the toughest opponent—a real nightmare. He’s a very good player, just like Ryan and Mohamed Kudus. So I’m glad I performed well against them. I also mentioned, I think when I signed the contract: ‘When I’m in form, I can outplay any winger.’
I believe we have a strong group of players and a great atmosphere in the dressing room. We enjoy our time together and work hard. When the squad is small, you develop a close-knit bond. I like when you stick together with your teammates and put in a lot of effort. Because if you don’t, then who will? So that’s exactly how we operate,” Mykolenko said.
