The Detroit Pistons have offered center Jaylen Duren a contract valued between $35 million and $38 million per season.
However, the two parties were unable to reach an agreement. As a restricted free agent, Duren significantly increased his market value following the 2025/26 season, during which he earned his first All-Star Game selection and was named to one of the NBA’s symbolic teams. These accomplishments granted him eligibility to pursue a five-year maximum contract worth $287.1 million.
The Pistons are keen to retain Duren but are reluctant to offer the maximum deal, concerned about preserving financial flexibility for the future.
