George Russell Secures Victory at Austrian Grand Prix
On June 28, another round of the Formula 1 championship took place, delivering plenty of exciting moments.
Mercedes driver George Russell claimed victory after starting from pole position. In the closing laps, Max Verstappen in the Red Bull and Russell’s teammate and championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli closed in on him thanks to fresher sets of tires.
Ultimately, the race concluded with that exact order on the podium. Verstappen finished just over a second behind Russell, while Antonelli even launched an attack on Verstappen in the final corners.
The race proved disappointing for Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, who began from second and third on the grid respectively. In the end, the seven-time world champion Hamilton crossed the line in fifth, while the Monegasque driver Leclerc settled for eighth place.
