Casemiro Aims to Support Messi and Enjoy Playing Together at Inter Miami
This summer, Brazilian midfielder Casemiro joined Inter Miami. His primary goal is to support the current MLS champions’ leader, Lionel Messi, in adding more trophies to his record-breaking career.
“Without a doubt, I came here solely to play alongside the greatest footballer of all time. I want to enjoy the game and help him keep winning because he is a winner. Another player has joined the team who wants to win and compete.
I am exactly where I want to be – in MLS. I left United as a free agent and had offers from Italy and other clubs in various countries, but I chose to be here… I want to enjoy playing next to him, help him win, and make him even greater. He is one of the, if not the, gods of football, and I want to support him.
Messi caused me so many problems – of course, I dreamed of playing with him. I have always wanted to play with the best. I could never stop him on my own – I always needed help from my teammates. I am very happy to be playing alongside him now and want to keep winning together,” Casemiro told ESPN.
It is worth recalling that last week Casemiro signed with Inter Miami as a free agent until the end of the 2027 MLS season. The contract includes an option to extend until June 2029.
