Schalke’s forward Edin Džeko has signed a new contract with the club, extending his stay in Germany until the summer of 2027 at the age of 40.

The Bosnian striker joined Schalke as a free agent during the winter transfer window. Since then, he has featured in 11 matches in Germany’s second division, contributing 6 goals and 3 assists.

“I remain eager to achieve success and want to help our team in the Bundesliga as well. Since joining Schalke in winter, I have become part of a fantastic squad and have felt incredible support from our fans.

Securing promotion to the Bundesliga is one of the highlights of my career. It has been an amazing experience. Football has brought me joy and motivation throughout my life. I am still driven to succeed and want to assist our team in the Bundesliga,” Džeko stated.
