Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp remained optimistic despite a historic 0-1 home defeat to Greece. Reflecting on the loss, Klopp stated, “I have no reason to fall into despair and say, ‘We are very bad.’ We are not that. But we are not that good either. I don’t want players to be judged in black and white terms: ‘He can do this, or he can’t do that.'”
He continued, “If you want to criticize someone, criticize me. Let new players develop. The experienced players are the best at their clubs, and they have my full support. You can criticize me, but not the players. We don’t need to tear everything down completely. I was surprised that some people booed us. The future is as bright as we make it. We will face it with full strength. We will keep moving forward on this path,” Klopp added.
