Shakhtar Donetsk forward Luka Meirellis has found the net in two consecutive matches. In the previous round, the Brazilian leveled the score against Karpaty, and today he scored again to secure a 2-0 victory over Chornomorets.
“We are very happy to claim the win, especially with the support of our home fans. It’s also crucial for us to keep our winning streak going in the domestic league. Our ambitions are always high, and today’s victory is significant in continuing that fight,” Meirellis said.
When asked about his personal goals for the season, especially after Kauan Elias announced his aim to score more than 20 goals, Meirellis responded, “I consider myself a very competitive player, so I always set certain targets for myself. However, individual stats are not my top priority. I don’t have a specific number of goals or assists that I must achieve. What matters most to me is that my contributions genuinely benefit the team in the competition and help Shakhtar win.”
Reflecting on his recent goals, he added, “Both goals are fantastic! It’s always a pleasure to score and leave the pitch with a goal to my name. Honestly, I can’t pick one over the other.”
