On August 5, Chelsea played a friendly match against Juventus as part of their preseason preparations.

Chelsea’s head coach, Xabi Alonso, had promised before the game that Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk would feature after his doping suspension was lifted.

True to his word, the Spanish manager brought Mudryk on as a substitute in the 82nd minute.

The match ended in a 1-0 defeat for Chelsea, with the only goal coming from Zhegrova in the 68th minute.
