According to insider Fabrizio Romano, defender Joško Gvardiol is set to receive a new contract at Manchester City.
The Croatian defender, who has been with City since 2023, is reportedly close to signing a deal running until June 2031, with only formalities remaining. “The new contract for Joško Gvardiol with Manchester City until June 2031 will be signed soon. It’s just a matter of paperwork. He is staying,” Romano wrote.
Earlier reports suggested Gvardiol was choosing between extending his contract at City and a potential move to Real Madrid.
The defender is currently with the Croatia national football team, preparing for a 2026 FIFA World Cup clash against England national football team.
