“It was something special. I’m incredibly proud to be playing for the national team again. This is my fifth World Cup, and I’m very happy to be part of it all.
I waited so long for this day and was determined to play. It felt great to be out there with the guys. At a major tournament, it’s always important to get off to a good start. We played well and scored a lot of goals. The substitutes brought positive energy, and we never stopped pushing for the next goal.
