Jaylen Brown Responds for First Time Following Trade from Boston Celtics
Jalen Brown’s Statement Following His Trade from the Boston Celtics to the Philadelphia 76ers
“First and foremost, I thank the Almighty, even amid all the challenges. Regardless of everything, I feel gratitude.
I’m still trying to process how all of this unfolded. At the same time, I feel both motivation and disappointment. I earned the respect of this city. I never asked for an easy path or special treatment. I simply showed up every day, kept my head down, and faced every challenge.
The relationships I built here, the battles we fought together, the championship we brought to this city, and the bond I shared with the fans — all of these I will carry with me forever.
It’s not easy to say goodbye to something you’ve put your heart into.
Respect means a great deal to me, and actions speak louder than words. To the people of Boston — thank you. To the community I built here, I love you.
When one chapter ends, another begins.
I look forward to what lies ahead and am grateful for the opportunity to join Philadelphia. Every city has its own identity, passion, and expectations. I respect that and eagerly anticipate earning that respect in the only way I know — through my work.”
