Las Vegas NBA Franchise Valued at $12-13 Billion, Exceeding Lakers Sale
The NBA is nearing the selection of an owner for its future team in Las Vegas. According to ESPN, the franchise’s value, including a new arena, is estimated to be at least $12–13 billion.
Three ownership groups have made it to the final shortlist: Nancy Walton Laurie and Bill Laurie; Steve Apostolopoulos and Mark Lesry; Bill Foley and Jerry Colangelo.
It is worth noting that earlier this August, the Los Angeles Lakers were sold to Bob Iger for $12 billion.
The league plans to officially approve two new NBA teams by the end of December. Currently, the focus is on Las Vegas rather than Seattle, as the competition among bidders there is stronger and the offers are higher.
However, the groups that are unsuccessful in securing the Las Vegas franchise could potentially participate in the ownership selection process for the Seattle team.
