The Sacramento Kings are exploring options to sign guards Russell Westbrook or Victor Oladipo as mentors for their recent draft pick, Darius Eikhoff.
Westbrook appeared in 64 games for the Kings last season, averaging 15.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game. Although the club parted ways with him during the offseason, they are now considering bringing him back as a free agent. Demand for Westbrook in the NBA remains low, with only the Miami Heat showing some interest.
Oladipo has struggled with injuries that caused him to miss the entire 2023 season, resulting in the loss of his NBA roster spot. The guard has been attempting a comeback by holding private workouts for scouts during the summer.
