The opening round of the Spanish league delivered a historic outcome with an average of 94.8 points scored per team, marking the highest average for a first round since the 1986/1987 season—the inaugural year of the Liga Endesa.
Remarkably, seven teams surpassed the 100-point mark, a feat never before seen in the competition’s history.
In three matches, both teams managed to score over 100 points, a first in the ACB era.
The highest-scoring day in the Spanish league remains the 25th round of the 1986/87 season, when teams averaged 98.3 points each. The record for the most points scored in a first round also belongs to that season, with an average of 90.9 points per team.
Barcelona kicked off the season with 119 points against Leche Río Breogán, the highest opening match score since 1990. That year, Zaragoza scored 131 points against Ourense. The club record for Barcelona stands at 121 points, achieved in 2018 against Real Betis.
