Besiktas, Partizan, and Hapoel have all encountered personnel challenges at the start of the EuroLeague season.
Besiktas suffered a narrow 94-96 defeat to Valencia in their first game back in the EuroLeague. Forward DaQuan Jeffries made his debut for the Turkish club after arriving from the NBA. Jeffries injured his left wrist during the match but was determined to continue playing. However, he managed only 5.5 minutes on the court without scoring any points. After the game, it was revealed that Jeffries has a hairline fracture in his wrist bone. The recovery timeline has not yet been announced.
Partizan forward Derek Willis had an unfortunate start with the team. He sustained an ankle injury in the opening minute of their 92-76 loss to Milan. Willis returned to the court later in the game but ultimately played just 3 minutes, recording 3 points and 1 rebound.
Hapoel guard Tamir Blatt will be sidelined for an additional two weeks due to a serious injury. His future with Hapoel remains uncertain. Head coach Dimitris Itoudis does not consider Blatt a part of the team moving forward, while the player himself is open to continuing his career abroad.
