Ukraine national team coach Andrea Maldera has provided an update on the readiness of his players ahead of tomorrow’s UEFA Nations League match against Georgia. The game, part of the second round of the competition, will take place in Tbilisi with kickoff scheduled for 16:00 UTC.
“Yaremchuk has recovered. We have some concerns about Mykolenko. He has a minor leg issue, so we decided not to take any risks with him.
As for the goalkeeper position, Trubin will start tomorrow. I have already discussed this with the goalkeepers. We agreed that Riznyk would play the first match and Trubin the second.
My decisions are primarily based on the characteristics of the players I have. I try to position them in the best possible way. We can play with a number 10, with one striker, or with two forwards. That’s not the main point. What matters is that the players are ready when they step onto the pitch.
I trust every player I have called up. They are all prepared to play. I will make tactical and technical decisions depending on how the match unfolds,” the coach told the Football Federation of Ukraine’s official website.
