Marco Rossi, the head coach of the Hungary national football team, spoke to the Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) ahead of their opening match in Group B2 of the 2026 UEFA Nations League. Hungary will host Ukraine on September 25.
“It’s challenging to compete physically against the Ukrainians because they have very tall players who pose a significant threat from set-pieces, crosses, and throw-ins,” Rossi explained.
The Italian coach also addressed the ongoing conflict affecting Ukraine, saying, “Honestly, I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for the Ukrainian players to stay calm during matches when their family and friends face daily dangers due to the war.”
Besides Ukraine, Hungary’s group also includes the national teams of Georgia and Northern Ireland.
