For Nina Milošević, there could hardly have been a more memorable UFC debut. Competing in front of a passionate home crowd in Belgrade, the Serbian bantamweight delivered a performance that instantly made her one of the breakout stars of UFC Fight Night 283. Facing the always-tough Hailey Cowan, Milošević stayed composed from the opening bell before breaking her opponent down with a relentless attack to the body. The referee stepped in at 3:41 of the first round, giving the hometown favorite a spectacular TKO victory and sending the arena into celebration.

The opening exchanges were competitive, with Cowan trying to use her reach and movement to keep Milošević at a distance. The American mixed in straight punches and low kicks, looking to disrupt the Serbian’s rhythm before she could settle into the fight. Milošević never appeared rushed, however. She patiently cut off the cage, feinted her way inside, and steadily began finding openings with hard kicks and short combinations. It quickly became obvious that she had a clear game plan—attack the body and force Cowan to slow down.

That strategy paid off in emphatic fashion. Midway through the round, Milošević landed a sharp front kick to the midsection that visibly hurt Cowan. Rather than chasing a reckless finish, she stayed patient and continued targeting the body with crisp punches whenever Cowan tried to retreat. A crushing right hand to the liver finally folded the American to the canvas. Cowan attempted to rise, but the damage had already been done. Seeing no meaningful defense, the referee waved off the contest as the Belgrade crowd erupted.

What made the performance so impressive was Milošević’s discipline. Many fighters making their UFC debut in front of a home audience allow emotion to dictate their decisions, but the Serbian never abandoned her technique. Every strike served a purpose, and she refused to headhunt when the body attack was producing results. It was a mature performance that showcased not only her power but also her fight IQ. Body-shot finishes remain relatively rare in MMA, making this victory stand out even more.

For Milošević, this was more than just a successful debut—it was a statement. Becoming the first Serbian woman to earn a UFC victory on home soil is a milestone that fans in Belgrade won’t soon forget. Cowan showed toughness and never stopped looking for opportunities, but she simply couldn’t handle the precision and pressure of her opponent’s body attack. If Nina Milošević continues to perform with the same confidence and composure she displayed in her first Octagon appearance, she could become one of the bantamweight division’s fastest-rising prospects.
