Chelsea is preparing to reward João Pedro with a significant new contract and a substantial salary increase following his outstanding debut season at Stamford Bridge, according to TEAMtalk.
The Brazilian forward is already tied to the Blues until 2032, having signed a seven-year deal after his transfer from Brighton in the summer of 2025.
However, Chelsea is eager to recognize João Pedro’s contributions by extending his contract further and offering a considerable pay rise. Sources indicate that the proposed terms would nearly double his current wages at the West London club.
João Pedro has justified Chelsea’s investment with an impressive first season, scoring 20 goals and providing 9 assists across 50 appearances. The Brazilian has established himself as the undisputed first-choice striker.
Reports suggest that Barcelona showed strong interest in the 24-year-old this summer, with sporting director Deco naming him a top attacking target after the Catalan club failed to secure Julián Álvarez. Nonetheless, Barcelona acknowledges that their chances of signing one of Chelsea’s key players are slim.
