The renowned Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez has officially joined MLS club Montreal. The Canadian team announced the signing on their official website.
The 37-year-old attacker has signed as a Designated Player, a status reserved for star players whose salaries do not count against the team’s salary cap. His contract runs through the end of the 2027 MLS spring season and includes a club option for the 2027/28 season.
Sanchez arrived at Montreal as a free agent following his stint with Sevilla, where he featured in 30 matches last season, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists. Throughout his career, the Chilean has played for top clubs including Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Inter Milan. He also holds the record for the most goals scored for the Chilean national team, with 51 strikes.
