Turkey national team head coach Vincenzo Montella has urged his squad to quickly recover from their defeat to France and focus on their upcoming UEFA Nations League fixture. On September 28, Turkey will face Italy in Bursa, and Montella is optimistic that his team can secure a positive result.
Following the match against France, the Italian coach addressed several controversial refereeing decisions, including the sending off of goalkeeper Çakır. Despite the unfavorable outcome, Montella emphasized his satisfaction with his team’s overall performance.
“We play against everyone and everything. Although the result was truly disappointing, I must say this was one of our best matches so far—both mentally and physically. It was a hard-fought battle,” the coach remarked.
The upcoming game against Italy holds special significance for Montella.
“The match against France was very intense, and we need to restore both physical and mental strength. Meanwhile, Italy will still have opportunities to win other matches,” Montella stated.
