However, that is not all. Deco is also focused on securing a top-class central defender following Araujo’s departure to Liverpool.
One potential target is Cristian Romero, but sources in Argentina consider reaching an agreement unlikely.
Another option is Aymeric Laporte, whose representatives claim he has a low release clause. Athletic Bilbao denies this, and Barcelona is keen to avoid any complications in this matter, especially since relations with the Basque club have been seriously damaged by the attempted signing of Nico Williams.
