Everton and Crystal Palace have reached an agreement on a player swap involving wingers Dwight McNeil and Brennan Johnson. McNeil will join the Eagles, while the Wales international Johnson will move in the opposite direction. Both forwards are expected to undergo medical examinations today.
According to BBC Sport, the players will sign four-year contracts with their new clubs.
The 26-year-old McNeil nearly transferred to Selhurst Park earlier in February when Palace agreed on a loan deal with an option to buy. However, the move collapsed after the necessary paperwork could not be completed in time, despite McNeil having already passed his medical.
Twenty-five-year-old Brennan Johnson joined Palace in January for £35 million and played a role in helping the team reach the Conference League final. Nevertheless, he remained on the bench during the 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano. Johnson failed to score in 26 appearances across all competitions for Palace, including 13 Premier League starts.
Last season, Everton finished 13th in the Premier League, with Crystal Palace two places below them. However, Palace will participate in the Europa League thanks to their success in the Conference League.
