Everton Forward Martin Sherif Faces Ban Over Betting Violations
The Football Association of England has charged 20-year-old Everton forward Martin Sherif with breaches related to sports betting. According to the governing body, the player placed 61 bets over a fifteen-month period, from November 2024 to February 2026.
Sherif, who spent last season on loan at Port Vale in the third division, is required to respond to the charges by Monday, August 17. Born in Liberia and a youth international for the Netherlands, he has yet to make his senior debut for the Toffees despite scoring 35 goals at youth level.
Previously, striker Ivan Toney received an eight-month ban after being found guilty of 232 betting rule violations.
