FIFA swiftly responded to recent sensational media reports concerning Gianni Infantino’s alleged deal with Morocco. Earlier claims suggested that the federation president promised Morocco the hosting rights for the 2030 World Cup final in exchange for political backing in the upcoming elections.
In reply to inquiries from the Spanish news agency EFE, the international governing body firmly denied these allegations.
“The assertions about any promises made by the organization’s president are false and misleading,” FIFA stated.
The federation emphasized that no decision has yet been made regarding the final’s venue, and the selection of the stadium for the tournament’s decisive match will be determined in due course.
