Arsenal suffered their first defeat of the summer-autumn preseason period, falling to Real Betis in a friendly match. The English side once again played without several key players, including Saka, Rice, and Saliba.

The Spanish team quickly capitalized on a mistake by Kepa when coming off his line, opening the scoring early. They then doubled their lead with a long-range strike. Arsenal managed to pull one back thanks to a goal from Inkapje, but Betis restored their two-goal advantage before halftime after Havertz lost possession.
