FIFA President Gianni Infantino has urgently convened the organization’s leadership for an emergency meeting in Morocco amid a growing scandal. The crisis was triggered by accusations of blackmail from Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, head of the Jordan Football Association, alongside a wave of harsh criticism following a failed attempt to sell stakes in FIFA tournaments to private investors.
“A very tense meeting lies ahead. He has made a catastrophic mistake. I haven’t spoken to anyone who believes Infantino can remain in his position,” insider Kave Solhekol commented on the situation.
Facing mounting pressure from UEFA and his own senior executives, the Swiss official now faces a critical decision: whether to resign or engage in an open battle to retain his role.
