Inter Milan, the reigning Italian champions, edged past Spanish side Real Betis in a pre-season friendly as Europe’s top leagues prepare to kick off their new campaigns.
The match remained goalless until late on, when John Stones, who recently transferred from Manchester City to Inter this summer, netted the decisive goal in the 82nd minute to secure a 1-0 victory for the hosts.
Looking ahead, Inter will officially begin their Serie A title defense on August 22 with a home fixture against Monza.
