Ali bin Al-Hussein, head of the Jordanian Football Association, has accused FIFA president Gianni Infantino of blackmail. According to him, FIFA refused to support the association with a modest budget, imposing a strict condition ahead of the elections.
“It was made clear to me that Infantino’s backing would have greatly benefited our association,” the sports official stated.
In addition to political pressure, Jordan has faced issues with visa problems for fans, unpaid prize money from the Arab Cup, and U.S. tax charges. This controversy unfolds amid growing criticism of Infantino, who has been attempting to sell stakes in the World Cup to private investors.
