Lewandowski Proud of Hat-Trick but Prioritizes Poland’s Victory
Robert Lewandowski, the striker for the Poland national team, reflected on his hat-trick and the 6-0 victory over Romania in the third round of the UEFA Nations League.
“I’m pleased with the hat-trick, but above all with the win. This was my first trip from the USA at this stage of my career, which isn’t easy. I anticipated a difficult period, and indeed it happened. However, I managed to recover my strength, and the rest did me good because in the first match against Bosnia, my legs felt like lead. Even during the training session before the game, I sensed my form was returning, and it showed during the match.
But I can still score goals for Poland, which brings me immense joy. I am still fulfilling my childhood dreams. The national team is a great source of pride for me, and every goal I score, especially at the National Stadium, means a lot.
We needed to step up our game, and I hope this victory will boost the team’s confidence so that on Monday we can beat Bosnia. I deeply regret receiving the yellow card that will prevent me from playing in Bosnia; it was unfortunate. I have no choice but to accept that I won’t be able to participate in the next match,” Lewandowski said.
