Lionel Messi Acquires Spanish Segunda Club Eldense
Lionel Messi, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, continues to expand his football investments. The Argentine forward has officially become the owner of Spanish club Deportivo Eldense, which currently sits 19th in the Segunda División. The second-tier Spanish club confirmed the transaction by releasing an official statement. It is worth noting that Messi is also a co-owner of Inter Miami and holds full ownership of Cornellà, a club based in a suburb of Barcelona.
In the official announcement from the blaugrana club, it was stated: “Deportivo Eldense officially announces the acquisition of the club by Leo Messi, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the century-long history of our organization. The arrival of one of the most significant figures in sports history to Spanish professional football signals the launch of a long-term project aimed at developing the sporting, institutional, and social aspects of the club. The deal is pending mandatory approval by the Higher Sports Council in accordance with sports law.”
