Spain national team head coach Luis de la Fuente has praised Lamin Yamal, declaring that the winger is on track to become a legend. Yamal scored an impressive goal in Saturday’s UEFA Nations League match against the Czech Republic, which ended in a 3-1 victory.
“Lamin never ceases to amaze us—all of us,” de la Fuente said during the post-match press conference.
“He possesses so much talent and skill. He still has a lot to offer, and we have a long way to go before we see the best version of Lamin, even though he consistently scores fantastic goals.”
Yamal has netted four goals in three Nations League matches, boosting his chances for this year’s top individual award.
“If he were the only Spanish player nominated for the Ballon d’Or, I would say yes, he is the best in the world,” de la Fuente added.
“He does everything well. If he isn’t the best, it’s only because of the competition from other Spanish players, but even then, he is undoubtedly one of the finest.
Lamin is on his way to becoming a legend.”
