Pressure on FIFA President Gianni Infantino continues to mount from UEFA. The latest statement came from UEFA Vice-President Laura McAllister, known as one of Infantino’s most steadfast critics.
“I believe there must be a strong candidate to challenge Infantino in the upcoming elections. Most importantly, this candidate needs to unite the opposition against him from across the globe,” McAllister declared.
Her remarks followed a recent announcement from four Asian football federations expressing their support for Infantino. McAllister’s comments appear aimed at preventing the formation of a coalition that the FIFA President could rely on.
