Romelu Lukaku Set to Leave Napoli for MLS Club Atlanta United
Forward Romelu Lukaku is reportedly looking to leave Napoli and exit European football. According to Sky Italia, the American club Atlanta United has expressed interest in acquiring the player.
Lukaku, 33, lost his place in Napoli’s starting lineup due to an injury sustained last season. Since then, the club has increasingly relied on Rasmus Højlund as their primary forward.
Despite Lukaku’s impressive performances for the Belgium national team at the 2026 World Cup, his position at Napoli remains uncertain, especially with just one year left on his contract.
Foot Mercato reports that Lukaku’s representatives have indicated the Belgian striker will struggle to accept a backup role, prompting Napoli to consider selling him.
