Andriy Shevchenko, the former AC Milan striker, shared his thoughts on the current state of the Italy national team in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport. The Azzurri are going through a challenging period, having missed out on the last three FIFA World Cups.
“Milan will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will forever be a fan. Italy is also dear to me—it’s like a second homeland. I say this not to please anyone, but because it’s the truth,” Shevchenko stated.
Reflecting on the struggles of the national team, the former Rossoneri forward commented, “Don’t complain too much; you will get out of this situation. Appreciate your history and remember that you have immense talent. You just need to adjust a few things, and you will start winning again. You also have the right people to make it happen.”
