Bratislava’s Slovan advanced to the Champions League playoff round by defeating Mjällby in the second leg. The home side made four changes to their lineup and, buoyed by the crowd at Tegel Field, controlled the match confidently.
The first half saw cautious play from both teams, but as the break approached, the hosts increased their pressure. In the 47th minute, Sanneh opened the scoring with a beautiful curling shot from the left edge of the penalty area. Mjällby tried to respond, but Slovan’s defense remained solid. The decisive moment came late in the game when Yirajang broke away down the left flank in the 78th minute and expertly placed the ball into the far corner, sealing the overall victory for the Bratislava side.
In the Champions League qualifying playoff, Slovan will face Slovenian club Celje.
