Tottenham Secure Win Over Chelsea Despite Playing with Ten Men
Chelsea and Tottenham faced off in a preseason friendly tournament, the Sydney Super Cup, held at the 83,000-capacity Accor Stadium in Sydney, Australia.
Tottenham took the lead in the 17th minute when Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali scored with a shot from the edge of the penalty area that took a slight deflection. Chelsea responded quickly, equalizing in the 21st minute through Estevao, who headed the ball into the net from close range following a cross from former Shakhtar player Manor Solomon.
Early in the second half, Tottenham was reduced to ten men when Christian Danso received a red card just three minutes after coming on as a substitute in the 49th minute.
The decisive moment came deep into stoppage time, at the 92nd minute, when Richarlison scored the winning goal to secure a 2-1 victory for Tottenham.
