TV pundit Wayne Rooney was puzzled by Thomas Tuchel’s decision to call up Trevoh Chalobah to the England squad. The Chelsea FC player was selected as a replacement for the injured Tino Livramento.
Many expected Luke Shaw to receive the call instead.
“It’s a little strange. I would have liked to see Luke Shaw. In my opinion, Luke Shaw was the most improved player at Manchester United last season,” Rooney said.
England will begin their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign today at 23:00. Their opponent will be Croatia national football team.
