Following the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup and amidst speculation about a potential transfer to Arsenal, Vinicius Junior has returned to Real Madrid’s squad. The Brazilian winger has already begun preseason training under the guidance of José Mourinho and shared his initial thoughts on working with the Portuguese coach in an interview with L’Equipe.
“Working with José is a tremendous pleasure. From day one, he made it clear that he wants to see me happy on the pitch. Mourinho encourages me to simply play my own football, to improvise, and to enjoy the game. He pays close attention to details but still gives me complete freedom in attack. We quickly developed a strong understanding. When a coach of his caliber believes in you so much and supports you, it provides an incredible boost of confidence ahead of the season,” the Brazilian stated.
