Los Angeles Lakers center Deandre Ayton has chosen to exercise the $8.1 million player option in his contract for the upcoming season.

This decision was reported by Shams Charania. During the regular season, Ayton averaged 12.5 points and 8.0 rebounds across 72 games.

In the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Houston Rockets, Ayton posted averages of 11.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 1 block per game.

Deandre Ayton was the number one overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. He has played for the Phoenix Suns and the Portland Trail Blazers.
