Sacramento Kings guard Zach LaVine has exercised his player option for the 2026/2027 season, securing a salary of $49 million.
LaVine’s decision pushes Sacramento approximately $16 million over the NBA’s luxury tax threshold. The player no longer fits into the Kings’ future plans, and the team will likely attempt to trade him, though finding a deal will prove challenging. Additionally, Sacramento is looking to move another veteran star, DeMar DeRozan, either through a trade or a buyout.
During the NBA season, LaVine appeared in just 39 games due to a hand injury, averaging 19.2 points, 2.3 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game.
