World Cup 2027 Qualifiers, Matchday 5 Results – July 2

Group A

Ukraine secured a 95-76 victory over Georgia, with a strong performance from Mikhailyuk who scored 28 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Kovlyar contributed 20 points and 6 assists, while Skapintsev added a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. For Georgia, Reid led the scoring with 18 points, followed by Shengelia with 13 and Sanadze with 10.

Spain dominated Denmark 109-81. Oriola led Spain with 20 points and 6 rebounds, supported by Saint-Supery and Gonzalez who each scored 16 points. Gonzalez also contributed 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Denmark’s top scorers were Webb with 14 points, Vogel with 12, and Jorgensen with 11.

Group B

Romania edged out Greece 73-66 in a tightly contested game. Russell topped Romania with 20 points, Totan added 13 points and 6 assists, and Cate recorded 8 points and 6 rebounds. Greece’s leading scorers were Larentzakis with 16, Charalampopoulos with 13, and Mitrou-Long with 12.

Montenegro narrowly defeated Portugal 72-68. Williams led Portugal with 21 points, while Lisboa scored 10 and Queiroz contributed 8 points and 8 rebounds. Montenegro’s Drobnyak posted 18 points, Farrell had 14 points and 5 assists, and Zugic added 9 points and 5 rebounds.

Group C

Serbia overpowered Switzerland 97-73. Schumacher led Switzerland with 19 points, followed by Fofana with 15 and Rochak with 9. Serbia’s dominant performance featured Jokic, who recorded 22 points, 14 rebounds, and 7 assists, Jovic with 22 points and 5 assists, Tanaskovic with 16, and Avramovic with 13.

Turkey claimed an 82-75 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina. Garza was the top scorer for Bosnia with 27 points and 8 rebounds, supported by Gegic with 19 and Atic with 9. Turkey’s key contributors included Hazer with 16 points, Osman who posted 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Sengun with 14 points and 4 assists.

Group D

Lithuania defeated Great Britain 105-85. Tubelis led Lithuania with 21 points and 5 rebounds, Valanciunas added a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Jakucionis and Buzelis contributed 16 and 12 points respectively. Great Britain’s top scorers were Hesson with 22, Olaseni with 14 points and 6 rebounds, and Raffet with 13.

Italy secured a 102-83 win over Iceland. Hermansson led Iceland with 22 points and 5 assists, supported by Glinason with 13 points and 6 rebounds, and Fridriksson with 13 points and 6 assists. Italy’s balanced attack featured Baldasso with 16 points, Tonut and Tessitori each scoring 15, and Mennion contributing 14 points and 6 assists.
