AEK has announced the signing of forward Derrick Williams on a 1+1 contract.
The 2011 NBA Draft second overall pick is returning to Europe after a three-year absence. Williams previously played for Panathinaikos, Fenerbahce, Maccabi, Valencia, and Bayern Munich. Most recently, the 35-year-old spent last season competing in South Korea’s league with Suwon.
Throughout his career, Williams has appeared in 160 EuroLeague games, averaging 11 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest. In the NBA, he played 428 games, posting averages of 8.9 points and 5 rebounds.
AEK will be competing in the FIBA Champions League next season.
