Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique reflected on his team’s 0-1 defeat to Lens in the French Super Cup final.

“The first positive takeaway is that reaching the final means you’ve done something right.

We played at a higher level than I expected. It was a very good match from our side; we created chances but couldn’t convert any. Credit to our opponents. We weren’t tired, and at this stage of the season, I saw many encouraging signs in our performance. Overall, it was a solid game from us.

That’s life, that’s football. You have to accept it, congratulate the opponent, and move on,” Enrique said during the Ligue 1+ broadcast.

It is worth noting that this victory marks Lens‘ first-ever French Super Cup triumph. Meanwhile, PSG hold the record for the most Super Cup wins, having lifted the trophy 14 times.
