Although the transfer of Yannis Constantinidis to Borussia Dortmund appears to be finalized, PAOK fans are attempting to block the deal. They gathered around the stadium demanding a meeting with club representatives.
In an unusual move to prevent the player’s departure, PAOK supporters from Thessaloniki surrounded the stadium. According to the German newspaper Bild, one fan even intercepted the player at Dortmund airport and compelled him to make a video call with other supporters to explain the situation.
Last year, Greek fans obstructed the player from signing with Stuttgart, forcing the club president to back down under pressure. However, this latest episode is not expected to stop the 23-year-old attacking midfielder from joining Borussia Dortmund for approximately €30 million.
