On August 9, the Emirates Cup 2026 final took place between London’s Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.
Since 2007, Arsenal had claimed the Emirates Cup trophy nine times, but this year, Dortmund prevented them from adding another title.
Borussia Dortmund dominated the first half, taking a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Inachio and Karetsas. Arsenal’s Nwaneri pulled one back in the 54th minute, but Dortmund responded immediately with Gadu scoring their third goal. Then, in the 69th minute, Djekeresh converted a penalty to bring Arsenal closer, yet they couldn’t find an equalizer.
Borussia Dortmund secured a 3-2 victory and lifted the Emirates Cup.
