Center Jalen Duren has agreed to a fully guaranteed five-year contract worth $200 million with the Detroit Pistons, according to ESPN insider Shams Charania.
Duren, an NBA All-Star and member of one of the league’s All-NBA teams, ended a protracted and contentious negotiation period with the club throughout the offseason with this new deal.
Initially, Detroit offered Duren between $180 million and $190 million over five years. The original contract draft also included a weight management clause, which Duren’s camp rejected. Subsequently, the Pistons raised their offer to $200 million and removed the weight clause.
During the 2025/2026 season, Duren appeared in 70 games, averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game while shooting 65% from the field.
