Florian Wirtz, named the best player in Germany’s match against Serbia, shared his thoughts on his performance after the game. Wearing the captain’s armband, he also scored a goal.
“It was an incredible feeling. I believe every player gave their all on the pitch today and stuck to the game plan. We executed almost everything perfectly,” Wirtz said.
“Wearing the captain’s armband is something special. It fills me with pride. I just tried to give 100% on the field.
The players around me made my job much easier. Our game involved a lot of movement, and we all aimed to play football. That helps me shine,” admitted the Liverpool midfielder.
Germany will play their next match on October 4 against Greece.
