The NBA is continuing to develop its plan for an NBA project in Europe and is preparing to allocate up to $2 billion for a potential deal to acquire the EuroLeague.
“Financial terms have not yet been officially presented, so the exact amount that could be distributed among EuroLeague shareholders remains unclear. However, according to our sources, discussions within the EuroLeague have intensified as the NBA appears increasingly determined to make a significant investment in the European competition,” the report from SDNA states.
The anticipated tournament under this initiative is expected to feature 16 teams, including 12 permanent franchises and four annual qualification spots.
